Jeffrey T. Van Gelderen, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon caring for patients at Orthocenter, with three locations in Red Bank, Morganville, and Marlboro Township, New Jersey. Dr. Van Gelderen specializes in the treatment of sports injuries and performs arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. His clinical focus includes joint preservation procedures for patients who want to maintain an active lifestyle.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Van Gelderen graduated from Holmdel High School in Monmouth County. After graduating magna cum laude from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., he returned home to receive his medical education from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He then completed his orthopaedic residency at New York University’s Hospital for Joint Disease. Following residency, he received an additional year of fellowship training in sports medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Medical Center. While there, he served as assistant team physician for a variety of Division I athletes. He now serves as a local team physician to athletes in the area.
As a member of the Orthocenter, Dr. Van Gelderen provides expert care at one of the largest orthopaedic group in Ocean and Monmouth counties.
